The degree it seems we can be honest depends on how accurately we can, or cannot, pre-judge that person's reaction. In things that I have done, I've often felt like turning round and telling people honestly what I thought, but didn't, not for fear of them judging me, but then to be faced with dealing with the judgements of everyone around me. Cowardly, perhaps, but sometimes we'll go to great extents to maintain what we often believe is in fact, an easier life... It's a strange old world eh?
